‘Lisa’s Legacy’ very kindly organised a Charity Fundraiser on the 18th March in aid of Gateway 4 Women.
The Fundraiser was a brilliant evening with live music, a disco and a raffle. In total £1900 was raised for Gateway 4 Women which has been put towards our new massage room, in which staff and clients have been attending the college and training for.
We would like to say a huge THANK YOU to Lisa’s Legacy, and we can’t wait to welcome you into our new massage room very soon.
Coffee afternoons will be running the same time as the groups upstairs. We appreciate that it can be easy to stay in the coffee afternoons instead of attending the group you have booked onto. Places are limited on the groups, so please only book into these if you are going to attend. If you do not attend your booked group, your place will be offered to someone else.
During the coffee afternoons, we encourage you to do some small craft activities if you wish. These crafts must be something you bring in from home and not the projects you are working on in the arts & crafts groups.
On Friday the 16th December we had our Christmas Party within the centre.
We played numerous games including a quiz, pass the parcel, musical chairs and the twelve days of Christmas.
The party also included a raffle, in which we were generously donated prizes from Cranston’s, Crumbs, Denton Tyres and other local business’s.
We were also very kindly donated 54 presents from Dunelm, meaning that everyone attending the party was able to leave with a gift bag full of goodies, as well as prizes they may have won throughout the day.
It was a lovely way to end the year and we hope that everyone had an amazing day.
On Monday the 31st of October we had a Halloween Day in the centre.
The day started off with watching Hocus Pocus in the morning, followed by Hocus Pocus 2 in the afternoon. There was also a Halloween Quiz and Nibbles throughout the day, and all the women who attended thoroughly enjoyed.
We had various Halloween decorations up, some that had been made in arts and crafts. As well as a change around with the sofas to make it feel like a proper cinema day.
On Friday the 14th of October, Staff and Clients arranged a fashion show at the centre. The clothes worn were all those donated to the charity shop and the models were all women who attended the centre.
The day overall raised £400 in ticket and clothing sales, all of which were given to our charity shop in Denton Holme.
The women modelling had their hair and make-up done in the morning, before modelling the beautiful clothes that had been donated in the afternoon. Those who weren’t modelling made themselves involved by attending on the day and making various decorations during arts and crafts such as paper stars, and paper flowers that were used to make a paper flower wall.
Our Gateway Charity Shop, 56/58 Denton Street, Carlisle are in need of donations of “Men’s Clothing”.
It would be greatly appreciated if the donations could be dropped off at our office Gateway4Women, Lorne Street, Denton Holme, Carlisle, Monday-Friday 9am – 5pm.
Thank you for your patience whilst we got ourselves sorted.
We are now able to start accepting donations for our charity shop again.
If you have anything you are wishing to donate, please drop it off at our Women’s Centre on Lorne Street as we have a lot more room to store things here, as well as having onsite parking for easy accessibility.
Due to the vast amount of donations we have received at both our charity shop and the women’s centre, we are no longer accepting donations for the time being.
All donations are greatly appreciated, however we no longer have the room to sort and store them at this current time.

Our downstairs area for enjoying our coffee & drop in social sessions
Hi all, we are delighted to be able to expand Gateway 4 Women having now gained the upstairs of the building. This will allow us to increase the support we are able to provide to women accessing Gateway 4 Women. This is particularly vital at this time as we have seen an increase in the support needed and number of referrals made due to the effects of COVID-19. We would love to make this new upstairs area as welcoming and homely as the main area. We have set up a Crowd Funder to help raise the funds needed to re-floor this new area. We would be extremely grateful if you could spread the word by sharing this link and gratefully appreciate any donations that can be made to help us towards this target. Many thanks, Gateway 4 Women https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/gateway4womennewflooring
